Building on the 'Can Do' Grants Program
The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing has provided $2,000,000.00 to support general practice networks in building awareness, skills, and linkages between primary care, mental health and drug and alcohol sectors to improve the services for people with mental health and substance use comorbidities.
The Building on 'Can Do' Grants applications closed on 13 March 2009. AGPN and the Advisory and Assessment Panel notified all ‘successful’ grant applicants on 3 May 2009 and contracts were finalised on 30 June 2009. Thirty two (32) grant applications were awarded and the projects were:

Funding for grant will cover the period until 30 May 2010.
A Comorbidity Coordinator's Network has been established to assist in the grants process and to support divisions in implementing their projects. AGPN and each SBO has a comorbidity coordinator to work with, and improve the linkages between the primary care, mental health and drug and alcohol sectors.
