The national primary mental health care forum

Over 230 delegates from all States and Territories as well as New Zealand attended the Joining the dots..... forum in Sydney.

Key note speakers including Wendy McCarthy, Business mentor and Chair of headspace, Paul Dillon from the National Cannabis Prevention & Information Centre, Jeff Cheverton from Queensland Alliance, John Mendoza, Chair of the Mental Health Advisory Council to the Minister, Grant Blashki who spoke on Climate change and mental health, and Colleen Krestensen from the Department of Health and Ageing. All the key note speakers were highly regarded and well recieved by the audience and provided diverse and thought provoking presentations.

A number of Divisions of General Practice along with researchers, mental health stakeholder organisations, allied health professionals, general practitioners and consumers and careres gave presentations in the concurrent sessions which addressed themes such as service intergration, primary mental health care innovation, research and evaluation, promotion, prevention and early intervention and building collaborative partnerships. There were papers representing nearly all States and a mixture of rural and urban presentations.
