Australian General Practice Network Mental Health Conference: 24-25 May 2010

The primary mental health care landscape presents exciting challenges and a wealth of opportunities for general practice networks.

The Australian General Practice Network (AGPN) is proud to be hosting the third national Mental Health Conference on 24 - 25 May at The Sebel, Albert Park, Melbourne.
While sitting against the backdrop of the health reform agenda, key themes of the conference will focus on:

  • Nationally relevant and innovative mental health initiatives and models;
  • Early intervention best practice models
  • Innovation in the primary mental health care space
  • Addressing service gaps
  • Targeting hard to reach populations

There will be particular emphasis on the refocused Access to Allied Psychological Services program and examination of AGPN’s key mental health programs such as, the Mental Health Nurse Incentive Program, the Perinatal Depression Initiative, headspace and mental health comorbidity.

Mrs Lucy Brogden, Patron of the Hunter Institute Partners in Depression Initiative will deliver a networking dinner address on the evening of 24 May.  A range of invited speakers will challenge conference participants with their thought provoking addresses and share their depth of experience in the mental health landscape, both national and international.

Join us for two days of challenging and informative debate, discussion and presentations.
